It was 34 degrees in the shade, the only time I was brave enough to look. I remembered eventually to reapply sun block that I’d sweated off, but I’m glowing a little tonight.
The road undulates more and more the further west I go, and there are enough trees for some shade occasionally, but it’s still hard going. Big climbing tomorrow.

I waited out some of the hottest part of today in a bus stop- there was a small brick hut next to it with a guy selling drinks. He was friendly and chatty (I could follow most of what he said) – sold me a 7Up, and gave me a large bottle of chilled water which he didn’t let me pay for.
San Cristobál or thereabouts tomorrow, all being well- not so far at all from the border.
